Carol Muzik Honored by Idaho Commisson on the Arts
Carol Muzik has been accepted to the Artists in Residence program for the Idaho Commission on the Arts. Muzik along with five new artists will join 20 returning artists as Art Educators to Idaho's statewide elementary schools.

Through the Artists in Residence program, Carol plans to focus on connecting kids with their creativity from experiences in nature. Muzik says, “A partnership with nature teaches us to see inspiration everywhere, thereby, connecting us more deeply with the world around us. Studies show that children are spending around 6 hours a day in front of some type of media. I want to encourage kids to get outside and translate their experiences into hands-on art projects.” Earlier this summer, Muzik taught a six-week writing and drawing course to elementary age kids at the Coeur d'Alene Library, which she called "Inspired by Nature."

Muzik's own story of raising a Canada goose to its successful return to the wild has inspired her creativity, her life - and now her students. Muzik is honored to be accepted into the Artist In Residence program, saying, "The creative path that raising a wild goose has laid out seems to lead to greater purpose with every turn. I am honored and thrilled for this opportunity."
